Sunset, Baie des Anges, NiceViewed from a vantage point at the foot of the Chateau Hill that fringes the eastern edge of Vieux Ville Nice, on a plaza triumphantly named Place du 8 Mai 1945, the setting sun blazes the cloudy sky in fiery pink, red, yellow and orange, across the Baie des Anges.

In the evenings at high tide, the Mediterranean Sea bubbles alive. Waves gnash and thrash as they pound the shingled dark pebble beach head: Neptune's plaintive cry to the heavens.
